These Halloween Brownies transform a classic treat into a festive graveyard scene. Bake brownies, cut them into rectangles, and top each with a Milano cookie headstone marked “RIP.” Finish by adding a green frosting mound and a candy pumpkin for a playful, spooky effect.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare an 8-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, letting the ends hang over the sides so you can lift the brownies out easily.
  2. Fill the lined pan with prepared brownie batter, spread it evenly, and bake according to your recipe's instructions.
  3. Once the brownies have cooled completely, use the parchment to lift them out onto a flat surface. Slice into 12 rectangles by cutting 4 rows and 3 columns.
  4. In a bowl, combine 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter (salted or unsalted), and 2 teaspoons milk. Beat for 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Adjust thickness with more sugar or milk if needed, then stir in a few drops of green food coloring. Set the frosting aside.
  5. Using black decorating gel, write “R-I-P” on top of each Milano cookie. Optionally, trim a thin strip from the bottom of each cookie to make them look like shorter headstones.
  6. Press one decorated cookie into each brownie rectangle so it stands upright like a grave headstone.
  7. Spoon a small amount of green frosting next to each headstone, then place a candy pumpkin on top of the frosting.
