These Halloween Cake Mix Sprinkle Cookies are a simple yet festive dessert that requires just a few pantry staples. By combining a box of white cake mix with orange sprinkles, oil, butter, and eggs, you create a flavorful dough that bakes up soft and golden. Once cooled, the cookies are dipped in vanilla frosting and decorated with green and purple sprinkles for a colorful, seasonal finish. This recipe is ideal for quick holiday baking and makes a delightful addition to any Halloween party spread.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper. Set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix with the orange sprinkles and stir until evenly distributed.
  3. Pour in the oil, melted butter, and eggs. Stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a uniform dough. Avoid using an electric mixer or stirring too vigorously to prevent overmixing.
  4. Use a cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the prepared tray, spacing each mound about 1 ½ to 2 inches apart.
  5. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, watching closely until the edges just start to turn golden.
  6. Take the tray out of the oven and transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool down completely.
  7. After the cookies have cooled, measure out ½ cup of vanilla frosting into a microwave-safe bowl. Warm it in 10-second bursts, stirring in between, until it is smooth and fully melted.
  8. Dip one side of each cookie into the melted frosting, then return them to the wire rack. Immediately add the green and purple sprinkles while the frosting is still wet.
