Create custom Halloween crackers using cardstock, thin decorative paper, cracker snaps, and ribbon. Roll a paper tube, attach the snap, wrap with paper, and fill with tiny treats. Tie both ends with ribbon for a festive pop-open surprise.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Prepare a 5.5-inch square of cardstock and an 18x7-inch piece of thin decorative paper (cheap wrapping paper works great). If your paper is plain, draw a pattern on it. Gather all your materials.
  2. Roll the cardstock square into a tube and secure it with clear tape.
  3. Place the tube on the decorative paper. Insert a cracker snap into the tube and center it, then tape the snap's ends to the paper on either side of the tube.
  4. Wrap the remaining paper around the tube, using hidden double-sided tape to secure it. Gather the paper at one end of the tube and tie it with a ribbon.
  5. Insert small toys and trinkets into the open end, being careful not to pack too tightly. Tie off that end with ribbon and trim excess paper if needed.
