This recipe combines instant chocolate pudding with whipped cream for a rich base, topped with crushed Oreo crumbs and ghoulish decorations. It's an easy, make-ahead dessert perfect for Halloween parties. Customize with candy worms, eyeballs, or tombstone bars for extra fright.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. If using heavy cream, whip it with a hand or stand mixer on medium-high until medium-stiff peaks form, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside. (Skip if using Cool Whip.)
  2. In the same bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until well blended. Let sit for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream (or Cool Whip) into the pudding. Spoon or pipe the mixture into serving cups, leaving room at the top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  4. Meanwhile, crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or rolling pin. Prepare any candy decorations you plan to use.
  5. Just before serving, sprinkle a generous layer of cookie crumbs over each pudding cup. Decorate with candy worms, eyeballs, tombstone-shaped candy bars, or other spooky treats. To attach candy eyes or chips to peanut butter cups, use a dab of frosting or brush with corn syrup.
