This Halloween Graveyard Treat features firm orange gelatin cubes suspended in a creamy white gelatin base, topped with crushed Oreos to resemble dirt. Gummy worms and tombstone decorations add a spooky touch. It's a fun, festive dessert perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine 1/2 cup boiling water with a 3 oz package of orange-flavored gelatin and stir until fully dissolved. Let the mixture cool for 4 to 5 minutes, then stir in 3/4 cup of Fanta Orange. (Using less liquid than the package directs ensures a firmer gelatin that’s easier to cut.) Pour into an 8x8 inch pan and refrigerate until set—overnight works well. Once firm, cut the gelatin into small cubes about 1/2 inch on each side and transfer them to another 8x8 inch pan (a clear pan lets you see the layered effect).
  2. Sprinkle 2 packets of unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup of cold water and let it sit without stirring for 3 to 5 minutes until it blooms—the powder will absorb the water and look like a soft gel. While waiting, bring 1½ cups of water to a boil. Pour the boiling water over the bloomed gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Add sweetened condensed milk and mix well. When the milk mixture has cooled enough that it won’t melt the orange gelatin cubes, pour it over the cubes in the pan. Refrigerate until firm, preferably overnight.
  3. Crush OREO cookies into fine crumbs (you may remove the creme filling first, but it’s fine to crush whole cookies). Decorate the set gelatin with the crushed OREOs, gummy worms, and DIY tombstone cookies. Let your creativity run wild—your children and guests will love the spooky graveyard look.
