This Halloween icebox cake features layers of Oreo cookies and orange-tinted whipped cream in three shades. After chilling for at least 6 hours, it's decorated with icing and sprinkles for a festive, no-bake treat.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Line a 9-inch springform pan with plastic wrap or parchment paper, letting it extend about an inch above the pan's rim.
  2. In an electric mixer with a whisk attachment, beat the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar on high until stiff peaks form, roughly 5 minutes.
  3. Split the whipped cream evenly into three bowls. Tint each with orange gel food coloring to create three different shades, from light to dark, folding gently until uniform.
  4. Arrange a single layer of Oreo cookies on the bottom of the pan. You can fill gaps with broken cookie pieces if desired, but it's optional.
  5. Spread one-third of the whipped cream over the cookies. I recommend using the darkest shade for the bottom layer. Smooth it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Place a second layer of Oreo cookies on top of the cream.
  7. Add another one-third of the whipped cream and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  8. Top with a final layer of Oreo cookies, then spread the remaining whipped cream over them. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  9. Take the cake out of the fridge, then decorate with orange icing and sprinkles as desired.
