These Halloween Oreo balls are a fun and creepy dessert that mixes crushed cookies with cream cheese, dipped in white chocolate, and decorated like realistic eyes. The recipe calls for colorful irises, black pupils, and red veins for an eerie effect. Perfect for parties, they can be served immediately or stored in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Put the cookies into a large resealable freezer bag and smash them with a rolling pin until you have fine crumbs.
  2. In a big mixing bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the Oreo crumbs. Knead with your hands until everything comes together like a dough.
  3. Shape the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Try to make them as round and smooth as possible for an even chocolate coating later.
  4. Set the balls on a baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper. After all are rolled, put the sheet in the freezer and chill for at least half an hour.
  5. When the balls are firm, place the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir, then continue in 10-second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
  6. Remove 5 chilled balls from the freezer (keep the others cold). Put one ball on a fork and submerge it into the melted white coating.
  7. As you lift the ball, gently tap the fork against the bowl's side several times to let extra chocolate drip off.
  8. Transfer the coated ball to a wax-paper-lined surface. Keep going until all balls (including those still cold) are covered in white chocolate.
  9. Allow them to rest until the coating sets completely.
  10. For decorating, melt the colored candy melts in the microwave using the same method as the white ones.
  11. Pour the melted colored candy (green, purple, or yellow for irises) into a small sandwich bag, then snip a tiny corner off.
  12. Pipe a solid circle of colored chocolate onto each ball to form the eye's iris. Repeat for all.
  13. Melt black candy melts in another bag, cut a small tip, and pipe a black dot in the middle of each colored circle.
  14. Lastly, melt the red candy melts in a third bag, snip the tip, and pipe thin lines outward to create bloodshot veins on the eyes.
  15. Wait until all chocolate is fully set.
  16. Enjoy right away or keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
