Directions

1. Download the free printable Halloween Scavenger Hunt game.
2. Gather supplies: a 9 x 12 clipboard, spooky pencils, a flashlight, or glowstick bracelets, and suitable attire for the weather.
3. For an outdoor hunt, print the list, take kids out in the evening, and search for items like pumpkins, black cats, jack-o'-lanterns, spiders, skeletons, Dracula, decorated doors, Halloween displays, witches on brooms, gravestones, orange lights, mummies, ghosts in trees, spooky houses, bats, witch hats, glow-in-the-dark decorations, Frankenstein, flags, and spider webs.
4. Use the scoring chart at the bottom of the hunt for friendly competition, marking each item found and tallying 'bones' to determine expertise.
5. For a virtual hunt, each participant has a photo of the clues on their phone, set a start and stop time, join a Zoom call or online chat, check in, start the timer, and search for clues in their neighborhood.
6. Award points: 1 point for each clue found, extra point for first discovery, and use the 'Bones' tally.
7. For a Halloween photo scavenger hunt, bring phones, take pictures of each decoration, set a time limit, gather at a meeting spot to share photos, award points for most items, most creative photos, and bonus points for team members in the picture.
