These Rice Krispie Ghosts are a fun Halloween snack made by shaping Rice Krispie treats into ghost shapes, inserting sticks for pops, and coating them in white chocolate. Mini chocolate chips become the eyes, and you can add sprinkles for extra flair. They're easy to make and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare a batch of your go-to Rice Krispie Treats using your preferred recipe.
  2. Instead of a 9x13 pan, spread the mixture into a jelly roll pan to make the treats flatter and yield more ghosts.
  3. Allow the treats to set slightly, then slice the entire slab into uniform rectangles.
  4. Shape each rectangle by trimming the top corners into a rounded dome to mimic a ghost's head.
  5. If making ghost pops, gently insert a stick into the bottom of each ghost.
  6. Return the shaped ghosts to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Let the treats firm up until sturdy.
  8. In a small bowl, melt white candy melts or white chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between intervals to prevent burning.
  9. Using a spatula, spread the melted coating over the rounded top and down the front and sides as desired.
  10. Set the coated ghosts back on the parchment and press mini chocolate chips into the coating for eyes; use a butter knife tip to adjust them without smudging. Optionally, add sprinkles.
  11. Allow the coating to harden completely—you can speed this up by placing them in the freezer.
