These Haunted House Cookies are a fun and festive Halloween treat. Start by cutting house shapes from rolled cookie dough, then whip up a batch of Royal Icing using powdered sugar, milk, and egg whites. Pipe the stiff icing onto the cookies to create your own haunted designs.
Ingredients
Directions
- Roll out your cookie dough and cut it into house shapes. Transfer the large house cookies onto baking sheets.
- Prepare Royal Icing by combining 2 pounds sifted powdered sugar, 1/3 cup whole milk, and 2 egg whites. Beat with a mixer until the mixture is thick and glossy. If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar. The icing should be stiff enough that it holds its shape when piped and doesn't run.
- Fill a piping bag fitted with a small tip with the Royal Icing and decorate the cookies as desired.
