These Hocus Pocus Spellbook Brownies are rich, fudgy, and easy to decorate with candy eyes and black icing. The coffee granules add depth to the chocolate flavor, while the piping creates a spooky book effect. A fun Halloween treat that looks impressive but is simple to make.

- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a stand mixer, cream together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and room-temperature eggs.
- Mix in the cocoa powder, flour, and instant coffee granules until well combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes at 350°F.
- Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely.
- Once cool, cut into bars.
- Fill a disposable piping bag fitted with a #2 tip with black cookie icing.
- Pipe a small dab of icing onto the back of a candy eye, then press it onto the side of a brownie bar.
- Pipe a black circle around the eye.
- Pipe a zigzag line down one side of the bar.
- Pipe a straight line next to the zigzag.
- Pipe small cross-stitch marks across the straight line.
- Pipe a half-circle shape on each corner of the bar.
- Let the icing dry for one hour.
- Enjoy your spooky spellbook brownies!
