This seven-step guide shows how to create a kid-friendly Frankenstein's daughter look using green cream and powder makeup, purple eyeshadow, and stitch details. Add 3-D prosthetic bolts with spirit gum, and finish with striped hair or a wig plus a plaid outfit for a cute Halloween costume.
Directions
- Start by applying a green cream makeup base all over your child's face with a sponge, blending smoothly and evenly, and continue down onto the neck for full coverage.
- Use a fluffy blending brush to dust a light green eyeshadow over the same areas where the cream was applied. Add a small amount of pink blush to the apples of the cheeks.
- Define the eyebrows using a brown or gray eyebrow pencil. On the eyelids, apply a purple or mauve eyeshadow and blend it up into the crease. Use a slightly lighter shade halfway up the lid and blend the two colors together.
- For older girls comfortable with eye makeup, line the upper and lower lashes with black eyeliner and apply mascara to make the eyes stand out and appear bigger.
- Draw stitch lines on the face and neck. Attach 3-D prosthetic bolts to the neck using spirit gum or liquid latex. If your child has never used these adhesives, be sure to do a patch test first to check for allergies.
- Create black and white stripes in the hair with hair mascara, or save time by using a pre-styled wig for a more dramatic effect. Secure the wig with bobby pins so it stays in place during playtime and trick-or-treating.
- Complete the costume with a plaid outfit and trendy accessories.
