Leftover Halloween Candy Cookies
Turn your kids' leftover Halloween loot into chewy, colorful cookies that disappear faster than candy corn!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at semihomemadekitchen.com.
This recipe uses a boxed yellow cake mix as a shortcut base, mixed with oil and eggs, then loaded with chopped Halloween candy. The dough is scooped, topped with more candy, and baked until golden. The result: soft, buttery cookies packed with chunks of chocolate, caramel, and nougat.
Ingredients
Directions
- Heat your oven to 350°F and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Cut your Halloween candy into small, bite-sized chunks.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, canola oil, and eggs, stirring until smooth.
- Fold in 1 1/2 cups of the chopped candy until it's evenly spread through the dough.
- Using a large cookie scoop (about 3 tablespoons), drop the dough onto the prepared sheets, spacing each ball about 2 1/2 inches apart.
- Press the remaining chopped candy into the tops of each dough ball.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are just lightly golden. Let the cookies rest on the sheets for a few minutes, then move them to a wire rack to cool completely.
