This simple recipe transforms extra Halloween candy into soft, chewy cookies. Using a boxed yellow cake mix as the base, you just mix in eggs and oil, then stir in chopped candy. Bake until the edges are golden for a quick treat that uses up holiday leftovers.
Ingredients
Directions
- Set your oven to 350°F and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- Cut your Halloween candy into small, bite-size chunks.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, canola oil, and eggs, mixing until smooth.
- Add 1 ½ cups of the chopped candy to the batter and stir until the pieces are evenly mixed in.
- Using a large scoop (about 3 tablespoons per cookie), drop portions of dough onto the lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 ½ inches between each.
- Press the remaining half cup of candy pieces into the tops of each dough ball.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are just lightly golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a couple of minutes, then move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
