These mini Halloween charcuterie boards are served in coffin-shaped containers and feature a variety of themed treats. You'll make soft cheese skulls, witch's broom pretzels, ghost pretzels, pepperoni roses, and pumpkin-shaped cheddar, then arrange them with prosciutto, berries, nuts, and candy corn for a festive and fun appetizer.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. To create the soft cheese skulls, lightly coat a skeleton mold with spray oil. Gently press the spreadable cheese into the skull cavities. Freeze the mold for 15 to 30 minutes until firm enough to pop out as whole pieces.
  2. For the witch's brooms, melt the white candy melts and dark chocolate chips in separate bowls. Transfer each to a piping bag. Place a pretzel stick on parchment paper. Pipe white chocolate vertically along the bottom half-inch to form the broom bristles, then top with dark chocolate. Repeat for all pretzels, then refrigerate to set.
  3. While the white chocolate is still melted, make ghost pretzels. Dab two small drops of melted white chocolate just above the top two holes of each white chocolate-covered pretzel. Press a candy eye onto each drop. Refrigerate until fully hardened.
  4. To make pepperoni roses, find an empty bottle with an opening about the size of a quarter (e.g., a 20 oz soda bottle). Place one pepperoni slice on top, folding half down into the bottle and half down the outside. Add two more slices to cover the opening, overlapping slightly. Repeat with a second layer of three slices, staggered. Turn the bottle upside down onto a clean surface and gently twist it off the rose. Use toothpicks to secure if needed.
  5. Use a pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter to cut pumpkins from the cheddar cheese block. Slice them to create enough for two per coffin.
  6. For the blueberry stick, thread as many blueberries as possible onto a toothpick.
  7. To assemble each mini charcuterie board, place 5 or 6 crackers at the very top back of the coffin. Set a skeleton just in front of the crackers, off to one side. Take one or two prosciutto slices, fold or crumple them like a ribbon, and press into the skeleton's lap so it comes up into or just outside the rib cage.
  8. Place the pepperoni roses at the very bottom end of the coffin. Depending on coffin size, you may need a few extra pepperoni slices underneath to lift the rose slightly for better presentation.
  9. Add blackberries next to the skeleton and crackers. Then place the blueberry stick on the skeleton's left side, just in front of its shoulder.
  10. Add small piles of pistachios and candy corn as shown in the photos. Then position two pumpkin-shaped cheese pieces just in front of the pistachios.
  11. Place three soft cheese skulls just in front of the cheddar cheese. Set the white ghost pretzels among the crackers, and lay the broomstick right on top.
  12. Serve immediately.
