Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at homemadeinterest.com.
Transform Nutter Butter cookies into adorable ghosts by coating them with melted white chocolate and adding dark chocolate eyes and a mouth. The white chocolate is drizzled over the top and gently tapped to create a dripping ghostly effect. After the chocolate hardens, store these cute treats in an airtight container.
Ingredients
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Arrange the cookies side by side on the sheet.
- Place the white chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl or mug. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir well, then continue microwaving in 10-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Spoon the melted white chocolate into a plastic sandwich bag. Snip a tiny piece off one corner to create a small hole. Alternatively, use a piping bag with a small tip.
- Pick up one cookie. Squeeze the white chocolate over the top curved area, keeping it mostly on the front and the back clean. Gently tap the bottom of the cookie on a flat surface to make the chocolate ooze downward. Shift it side to side to create uneven edges at the bottom of the ghost.
- Place the cookie back on the parchment paper with the clean back against the paper and the decorated front facing up. Repeat for all cookies.
- Allow the white chocolate to harden completely, about 10 minutes.
- Finely chop the chocolate chips and place them in a microwave-safe mug or bowl. Melt them using the same method as the white chocolate (30 seconds, then 10-second intervals with stirring).
- Spoon the melted dark chocolate into another sandwich bag, snip a corner, or use a piping bag with a small tip.
- Pipe three circles on each ghost cookie: two for eyes and one for a mouth.
- Let the chocolate harden fully, then store the cookies in an airtight container until ready to serve.
