These Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies are a simple Halloween treat made by coating cookies in white chocolate and letting it drip down to form ghostly shapes. After the white chocolate sets, tiny dark chocolate eyes and mouths are piped on. They're easy, fun, and perfect for parties or spooky snacking.
Ingredients
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Arrange the cookies side by side on the sheet.
- Place the white melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or mug. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir well. Continue heating in 10-second bursts, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted.
- Spoon the melted white chocolate into a sandwich bag. Snip a small corner off to create a tiny hole. Alternatively, use a piping bag with a small tip.
- Pick up a cookie and squeeze the white chocolate over the top front arc, keeping it mostly on the front. Gently tap the bottom of the cookie on a flat surface so the chocolate begins to drip downward. Slightly tilt it side to side to create uneven edges at the bottom.
- Place the cookie back on the lined sheet with the decorated side up and the clean back against the paper. Repeat for all cookies.
- Let the white chocolate harden completely, about 10 minutes.
- Put the finely chopped chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or mug. Melt using the same method: 30 seconds, then 10-second intervals, stirring between each.
- Spoon the melted dark chocolate into a sandwich bag and snip a corner. A piping bag with a small tip also works.
- Pipe two small circles for eyes and one for a mouth on each ghost cookie.
- Allow all chocolate to harden fully, then store the cookies in an airtight container until ready to serve.
