Directions
- Apply black paint to the underside of two sturdy paper plates. Allow the paint to dry fully.
- Once the paint is dry, stack the two plates and slice off the top quarter of both together. Keep the cut-off pieces.
- Use the reserved sections to form wings. Trim a tiny bit from each piece's end, then cut a triangle from the straight edge. Set those triangles aside for ears.
- Position the two plates with painted sides outward. Insert one wing between them near the rim. Staple through both plates at the wing's top and bottom.
- Attach the second wing on the opposite side. Then staple every 1 to 2 inches along the rim to close the holder, but avoid stapling above the wings.
- Glue the two saved triangles onto the front of the holder to make bat ears.
- Cut a 24-inch black ribbon. Insert one end between the plates above a wing, then staple over it along the rim. Do the same for the other end.
- Glue large googly eyes onto the bat. Use a white chalk marker or crayon to draw a smile.
- Cut two triangle teeth from white adhesive foam. Peel and stick them onto the bat's mouth.
- Fold an orange tissue paper piece and tuck it inside the holder.
