Create festive paper pumpkins in two sizes using card stock, pipe cleaners, and a glue stick. Simply cut strips, glue them into a spoked shape, thread a pipe cleaner through holes, and secure into a pumpkin. Add a brown paper stem for the finishing touch.

You'll need

Directions

  1. For a small pumpkin, cut 4 strips of paper 1 inch wide and 11 to 12 inches tall. For a large pumpkin, cut 8 strips 1.5 inches wide and 9 inches tall.
  2. For a small pumpkin, glue two strips together at their centers to form a plus sign, then glue two more strips on diagonally to create an eight-spoke shape. For a large pumpkin, glue all eight strips together in a fan pattern, spreading them evenly. Punch a hole near the end of each strip.
  3. Bend a green pipe cleaner in half and twist a small loop at the fold. Flatten this loop with your fingers.
  4. For a small pumpkin, start with the top strip and thread the pipe cleaner through its hole. Continue threading the remaining strips in order from top to bottom. For a large pumpkin, begin with the bottom strip and work upward.
  5. Slide all the strips along the pipe cleaner to form a pumpkin shape. Twist the pipe cleaner above the strips to secure them, then make another loop at the top. Curl the remaining pipe cleaner around a pencil.
  6. Optionally, roll a small piece of brown paper into a stem shape and glue it to the pipe cleaner loop.
