Halloween Carnival
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at chicpartyideas.com.
About this
A Halloween Carnival party inspired by the vintage era of travelling freak shows, built around a dessert table and free printables. The page walks through how the room was turned into a circus tent with striped scene setters, streamers and a cardboard ticket booth, how ordinary Halloween props were dressed up as freak show acts, and what was served on the dessert table. It also offers a set of free downloadable printables used for the party styling.
The plan
- Decide to host a Halloween Carnival party, ideally based on the vintage era when freak shows visited cities and towns with strange and unique acts
- Plan a Dessert Table as the centrepiece of the party
- Repurpose existing Halloween props and figures rather than buying everything new
- Create a set of carnival printables for the party and offer them to guests as free downloads
- Dress as the ring master, with a fortune teller and a clown attending as hosts
Decoration ideas
- Plastic carnival striped scene setter applied across the walls
- Red and gold streamers hung from the ceiling to make an enclosed circus tent atmosphere

- Witches transformed into Evil Clowns
