PHOTO · EHOW.COM

This Halloween centerpiece transforms a grapevine wreath into a magical display using printable potion notes aged with ink, rolled and tied with twine. Glass bottles filled with sand or beads are glued on, along with faux spiders, crows, and mini bottles. Layer the scrolls at different angles for a dimensional, eerie look.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Take each glass bottle and add vase fillers like sand or beads to your liking.
  2. Secure the stoppers on the bottles with glue. Keep in mind that the mini glass bottles (such as pendants) will be attached to the wreath later, while the larger ones will be arranged in the center. Choose fill colors that match your theme.
  3. Print the potion notes onto faux parchment paper, setting your printer to print two pages per sheet. Then cut each sheet in half using scissors or a paper cutter.
  4. Run a black ink pad along the edges of the notes to give them an aged look. Allow the ink to dry completely.
  5. Roll each potion note up tightly and secure with a piece of tape. Tie a length of twine around each scroll, trim the ends, and add a small dab of hot glue to hold the twine in place. Do this for all the notes.
  6. Using hot glue, attach at least two layers of potion scrolls to the wreath, positioning them at various angles. Then glue on faux spiders, crows, and mini potion bottles on top of the scrolls or tucked into gaps. You can also add other Halloween-themed items like fake spiderwebs or eyeballs to complete the centerpiece.
