Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at fabeveryday.com.
Ingredients
Directions
- Mix the pancake mix, water, and cinnamon in a large liquid measuring cup.
- Heat your skillet or griddle and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Pour a larger rounded pancake circle (for the top part of the skull pancakes), then on the bottom end, add a small rectangle of batter (for the jaw part of the skull).
- Prepare as usual for pancakes, flipping when ready and cooking until done.
- Pour two longer lines of batter for the crossbones. Add two small circles on each end of each line.
- Cook just like you would cook pancakes, carefully flipping them to brown on both sides using a long spatula, or two spatulas if needed to flip them carefully.
- Arrange the skull and bones on your serving plates so that the bones cross over each other sitting below the skull pancakes.
- Allow the Halloween pancakes to cool a little before decorating them, or the toppings can melt.
- When cooled enough for the chocolate not to melt, arrange chocolate chips on top of the skull pancakes to create eyes (4 chocolate chips in a diamond shape for each eye) and a nose (3 chocolate chips in a triangle shape).
- Add 3 mini marshmallow pieces on top of the jaw for teeth.
- Serve your Halloween pancake recipe with butter, syrup, or your favorite pancake toppings.
