These Halloween monster eye brownies start with a rich dark chocolate base, baked until perfectly fudgy. Once cooled, each brownie is dipped in melted chocolate and topped with candy eyeballs and festive sprinkles for a creepy-cute finish. Perfect for parties or a frightful dessert table.
Ingredients
Directions
- Set the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of overhang on two sides.
- Combine dark chocolate and melted butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on full power for 3 seconds. Whisk continuously until smooth and fully combined. Set aside about 1/2 cup of this mixture in a separate bowl.
- To the remaining chocolate mixture, add brown sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and kosher salt. Fold gently with a rubber spatula until just combined.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder, then fold into the batter until incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes to reach room temperature.
- Cut the brownies into evenly sized squares. Dip each square into the reserved melted chocolate, then place on a wire rack set over parchment paper. While the chocolate is still wet, decorate with candy eyeballs and orange and black sprinklers. Serve once the chocolate sets.
