Elevate your soup game with these five creative Halloween decorations. Use a white tortilla and edible marker for floating ghosts, toast red Leicester cheese for pumpkin toasts, craft mozzarella eyeballs with cucumber pupils, draw yogurt spider webs, and bake wholemeal tortilla spider crisps with poppy seeds.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Press a ghost-shaped cookie cutter into the white tortilla to create your shapes. Place these cutouts on the surface of the soup right before you serve it. Then, use an edible marker to draw two small dots for eyes on each ghost.
  2. Toast a slice of bread and cover it with slices of red Leicester cheese. Grill the toast until the cheese melts and bubbles, then let it cool for a moment. Use a mini Halloween cookie cutter to punch out pumpkin shapes from the cheese-covered bread. Cut small stalks from a mint leaf with the same cutter and attach them to the pumpkins. Finally, press the back of a knife blade into the cheese to carve in the classic pumpkin ridges.
  3. Take mozzarella pearls to serve as eyeballs. Use a tiny circle cutter or the end of a drinking straw to punch a small hole in the top of each pearl. Cut a matching plug from cucumber and insert it skin-side up into the hole to form the pupil.
  4. Fill a mini Sistema sauce bottle, a piping bag, or a plastic food bag with a snipped corner with natural yogurt. Squeeze a spiral pattern onto the soup. Then, take a cocktail stick and drag it from the center outward through the yogurt to create the spokes of a spider web.
  5. Cut spider shapes from the wholemeal tortilla using a cookie cutter. Brush the shapes with oil and sprinkle poppy seeds over them. Bake for 5 minutes to make crispy tortilla spiders.
