About this
An A.V. Club TV-reviews page led by Stephen Robinson's recap of the WandaVision episode "All-New Halloween Spooktacular," which trades the show's usual sitcom spoofs for Malcolm in the Middle-style suburbia, a comic-accurate Scarlet Witch costume, and mounting dread at the edge of Westview. The page also carries three further reviews: Saloni Gajjar's pan of Prime Video's Legally Blonde prequel Elle, her recap of The Vampire Lestat's "The Devil's Road," and Jarrod Jones's House of the Dragon recap covering Rhaenyra's swift seizure of the Iron Throne. Each review pairs a critical argument with detailed plot beats and stray observations.

01
WandaVision 2021
"All-New Halloween Spooktacular." Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) wears her Marvel-accurate Scarlet Witch costume, an homage to X-Men No. 4 (1964). The show spoofs Malcolm in the Middle, with twins Tommy and Billy breaking the fourth wall. Vision's goofy costume nods to Avengers No. 57; Evan Peters plays a recast Pietro who helps the twins steal candy and smash jack-o'-lanterns. S.W.O.R.D. subplot: Hayward dismisses Monica, Darcy and Jimmy; Darcy learns Hayward has secretly tracked Vision. Vision finds residents frozen, frees Agnes (Kathryn Hahn), who says "You're dead!"; he breaks apart at the barrier and Wanda extends it, turning the S.W.O.R.D. base into a circus.

Elle 2026
Prime Video prequel panned for retracing Legally Blonde's beats. Sixteen-year-old Elle moves from LA to Seattle, a pariah among grunge-loving classmates. Stars Lexi Minetree, June Diane Raphael, and the late James Van Der Beek in his final onscreen role. Features an unwinnable love triangle (Miles and Dustin) and an embezzlement mystery solved via fashion. Premiered July 1 on Prime Video; renewed for season two.

03
The Vampire Lestat 2026
Episode four, "The Devil's Road." Lestat spirals as Gabriella ignores him; flashbacks show her past manipulation. Armand's apology tour draws Daniel's furious monologues and a mocking concert song, "Big Boss." Lestat strips and showers in front of Armand. Louis befriends Regina, a Claudia lookalike, who agrees to impersonate Claudia for $500,000, ending on "What now, Daddy Lou?" Also covers a fan-signing shooting, Alex learning Arun is Armand, and The Great Conversion.

House of the Dragon 2026
Season three, episode two, framed as its most efficient regime change. Alicent secures the gold cloaks and clears Rhaenyra's path; Otto Hightower is executed, his head rolling across the floor. Aemond sacks Harrenhal to find Daemon gone and Alys Rivers toying with him. Prince Jacaerys dies at the Gullet, hardening Rhaenyra; Daemon's dragon dreams and Alys's prophecy push her to act. She takes King's Landing with little resistance, the Kingsguard yielding, leaving bloody footprints.
