New Halloween movies 2026: the October release calendar.
Carrie, Clayface, Crystal Lake and a new Treehouse of Horror headline 23 horror and Halloween releases this October, from family-friendly picks to hard horror for grown-ups.
Here is our calendar of new Halloween movies for 2026, plus the series, specials and new seasons landing beside them: 23 titles, in release-date order rather than ranked. We verified the dates and platforms on October 5, 2026 against official and trade sources, but release dates can still move (Other Mommy and Clayface already have), so confirm before you buy tickets.
Everything here is brand new or still on its way, so we stick to what each one is about and who should be in the room, with no verdicts. Most of the list is for adults, and several titles are hard horror that kids should skip. The family and teen picks say so in their blurbs, and where an official rating exists, the card shows it.

Christmas at the Kringles
A suburban fresh start turns unsettling when a family’s son grows close to the Kringles next door, neighbors who celebrate Christmas all year long. Kevin Lewis directs this holiday horror-comedy, opening Halloween weekend; despite the title, it’s for adults.
October is the one month when a giant snake, a spider infestation and a haunted-house sitcom can share a release calendar.
Stack them by theme. Carrie, Below and Crystal Lake each arrive with every episode at once, so they make a binge weekend for adults, and Mike Flanagan fans can pair Carrie with Clayface, which he co-wrote. Beware Boiúna and Crawlers make a snake-and-spider pair for theater trips, and Shudder has a new original three Fridays running. For a family night, start with Vampirina and the Ghosts special, add Is It Cake? Halloween, and preview Pumpkinhead 2 first. The full Fieldguide watchlist has plenty more once this list runs out.
