This step-by-step guide shows you how to create a skeleton face using a light foundation, dark shadows, and contouring. You'll learn to hollow out eyes and cheeks, define the nose and mouth, and add finishing touches like shimmer and lashes for a complete Halloween look.

Directions

  1. Start with a clean, moisturized face. Apply a good moisturizer to create a smooth base for foundation, and gently pat eye cream around your eyes.
  2. For a washed-out look, use a very light foundation shade like Linen. Put it all over your face and lips, but avoid the area just below your cheekbones.
  3. To create hollow eyes, use black eyeshadow such as Salem with an eyeshadow brush. Sweep it along your lower lash line and blend down around the eye sockets. For brows, use Trust eyeshadow: make short vertical strokes at the inner brow, then blend with your finger.
  4. Now hollow out your cheekbones using the Multitasker brush and Cola contour. Find the hollow under your cheekbone and draw a slightly curved line that drops steeply about half an inch from the corner of your mouth. Fill in with Cola, keeping the darkest part at the top and fading toward the jaw. Repeat on the other side. For the nose, draw a tiny V in the center and a wide U from the top of the V down around the nostrils. Fill in with Cola and clean edges with the brush tip.
  5. For the mouth, use the same tools to draw a thin horizontal line between the center of your lips, stopping just before the cheek shadow. Add vertical lines about a centimeter apart. Finish by adding shimmer to your brow bone with Sabrina eyeshadow, darkening your eyeliner with more Salem on top and bottom lash lines, and applying false lashes.
