This guide walks you through creating two adorable Halloween cake pop designs: candy corn silhouettes and spider web companions. You will learn how to shape, coat, and decorate the pops with specific ingredients like orange, white, and yellow coatings, candy eyes, black jimmies, and purple confetti. The instructions also cover crafting edible spider webs on wax paper and assembling spider figures with licorice legs and confetti hearts. Follow each step carefully to achieve the perfect festive look for your holiday celebration.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare your cake balls according to the standard recipe, then mold each one by hand into a tapered candy corn silhouette.
  2. Submerge the entire shaped ball in the orange candy coating and set it aside to harden.
  3. Angle the top portion into the white coating, tilting it so the white layer curves smoothly over the edges.
  4. Carefully pull the stick out, dip the lower section in yellow coating, coat the very tip of the stick, and reinsert the stick into the pop to set.
  5. Secure the candy eyes using a small dab of melted coating as adhesive.
  6. Press black jimmies onto the face for eyebrows and add purple confetti sprinkles to create rosy cheeks.
  7. Use a black edible ink pen or piped melted coating to draw a wide, cheerful grin.
  8. For the web decorations, pipe candy coating onto wax paper, using a template placed underneath as a guide.
  9. While the piped coating is still wet, press the lollipop stick into it, then use a toothpick to drag through the coating to form sharp, pointed tips.
  10. Either dip the cake pops directly into the piped webs, or decorate the pops first, remove the sticks, and use the sticks to carefully place the pops onto the wet webs.
  11. Dip your spider cake pops in your chosen coating and, while still wet, gently press cut licorice pieces into the sides to serve as legs.
  12. Attach candy eyes with melted coating and add miniature confetti hearts to act as fangs.
  13. Pipe a smile over the top portion of the hearts to complete the spider's face.
