Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at iheartcraftythings.com.
This no-carve pumpkin craft creates a cute owl decoration without any carving. Start by painting a small pumpkin black, then use chalk markers to draw feather-like scallops. Add tissue paper wings and finish with googly eyes and an orange paper beak.
You'll need
Directions
- Give your small pumpkin a coat of black paint and let it dry completely.
- Once dry, use chalk markers to draw scallop-shaped lines across the front of the pumpkin to create an owl feather pattern.
- Cut out four circles from tissue paper. Trace around a plastic fruit cup for even circles, and use two different colors if you like.
- Make a straight edge on each circle by cutting a small slice off. Then cut slits along the curved side for extra texture. Apply a line of glue along the straight edge and attach two circles to each side of the pumpkin, layered, to form owl wings.
- Finish by gluing on googly eyes and a triangle-shaped beak cut from orange cardstock.
