These creepy-crawly chips are made by cutting blue corn tortillas into bug shapes and baking until crispy. The accompanying swampy guacamole is a chunky blend of avocado, salsa, cilantro, lime, and black beans. Serve them together for a frighteningly fun appetizer that’s perfect for any Halloween gathering.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F. Cover two baking sheets with parchment and give them a quick spritz of olive oil spray.
  2. On a cutting board, press cookie cutters shaped like bugs and critters into the tortillas or wraps. Arrange those shapes in one layer on the prepared sheets. Mist with additional olive oil spray and dust with sea salt.
  3. Bake until they're crispy, which should take 10 to 15 minutes. Flip them halfway through. Once baked, allow them to cool fully before serving.
  4. Remove the avocado flesh and put it in a medium bowl. Add the minced garlic and 1/2 teaspoon salt, then roughly mash everything together.
  5. Stir in the salsa, chopped cilantro, and lime juice. Gently fold in the rinsed black beans.
  6. Give it a taste—add more salt if you like. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap right onto the surface of the guacamole to keep it from browning, until you're ready to serve.
