DIY Fall Halloween Melted Crayon Pumpkin
Turn a simple white pumpkin into a colorful masterpiece with melted crayons and a blow dryer!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at kindredcbc.wordpress.com.
This DIY project uses a white pumpkin, crayons, glue, and a blow dryer to create vibrant drips of wax. Peel the crayons, glue them on, then melt with heat, angling the dryer for artistic spread. Add extra crayons where needed for full coverage.

Directions
- Start with a white pumpkin so the melted crayon colors stand out vividly. I used a Funkin faux pumpkin.
- Pick your color scheme. I tried a 32-pack but found many colors weren't bright enough; next time I'll choose a smaller set that includes essential bright shades.
- Remove the paper wrappers from your crayons. To speed this up, slice along the paper with a craft knife.
- Glue the crayons around the top of your pumpkin.
- Turn on your blow dryer to high heat and aim it at the glued crayons—watch the wax melt and drip down!
- Protect your work surface, as things get messy. Tilt the blow dryer at different angles to make the wax spread out rather than run straight down. Let the wax cool and harden.
- If you need more color in certain spots, glue on another crayon and reheat with the blow dryer.
