Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at handmadecharlotte.com.
This DIY project uses a white pumpkin as a canvas for thumbprint art. Kids dip their thumbs in paint and stamp vertical rows to form a pineapple pattern, then add green leaf wisps and black texture dots. It's a fun, hands-on Halloween craft for all ages.
You'll need
Directions
- Squeeze a small amount of acrylic paint onto a paper plate. Let your child press their thumb into the paint, then do a few test stamps on the plate to gauge the right amount of paint. For the pineapple pattern, press thumbprints in vertical rows covering the entire pumpkin surface.
- Using a fine paintbrush and green paint, add three small leaf-shaped strokes at the top of each thumbprint. Older children can help with this step.
- With a fine brush and black paint, dot tiny specks all over the thumbprints to mimic pineapple texture. Alternatively, kids can use black markers to make these dots.
