Turn your driveway into a glowing Halloween path with these easy PVC arches covered in pumpkin buckets.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at makingfrugalfun.com.
This tutorial shows how to create festive driveway arches using PVC pipes, rebar, and 46 pumpkin buckets with lights. Drill holes in the buckets, thread them onto a light string, and guide the arch over rebar supports. For the ends, placing a few buckets on the rebar first makes it simpler to insert the PVC pipe.
You'll need
Directions
- Use a 2.5-inch hole saw to cut a hole in the bottom of each of the 46 pumpkin buckets, then carefully slide them over the string of 300 multicolor lights, arranging them along the arch.
- Hammer three 3-foot lengths of rebar about 1 foot into the ground at each end of your driveway to form the arch base. Slide the empty pumpkin buckets over the rebar to hold the arch in place.
- For the final section, first place 4 or 5 pumpkin buckets over the rebar, then feed the PVC pipe through those buckets—it's easier to see and align the buckets this way before securing the rest.
