This guide walks you through creating a layered spiderweb display for your front door using glitter strips, green tulle, cheesecloth, and yarn. You will attach the materials to the door and address numbers, paint rubber spiders, and arrange everything for a festive Halloween look.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Collect all the necessary crafting supplies before you begin your project.
  2. Trim a small section of clear contact paper and press it firmly onto your door surface. Next, measure and cut the clear adhesive fasteners, attaching the rough side to the contact paper. Finally, adhere the soft side of the fasteners to the reverse of the 3/8-inch glitter strips.
  3. Measure and cut the glitter strips to your desired length, then attach them to the door to form the initial web structure.
  4. Take the spool of green glitter tulle and the cheesecloth. Position the cheesecloth above the door frame first, allowing one end to drape down the left side while the other cascades down the right. Layer the tulle on top, securing both fabrics using the holiday multi-clips.
  5. Apply the coarse obsidian glitter paint to the rubber spiders using a paintbrush, enlisting the help of young helpers for this task.
  6. Attach the Onyx-colored glamour yarn to your front door address numbers to create the web strands. Since your numbers sit approximately 1/2 inch away from the brick, use this gap as a weaving anchor. Secure the long strands with knots, then weave horizontally across the numbers until the web design is finished.
  7. Wrap a piece of yarn around the painted spider to hold it in place, then tie the opposite end to the left side of the completed yarn web.
