Create two charming Halloween cat decorations from 1x6 wood pieces. Cut ear shapes, paint black, cover with patterned paper using Mod Podge, then add googly eyes, twine whiskers, button noses, and ribbon bows.

You'll need

Directions

  1. On each wood piece (9.25″ and 6.5″ long), measure 2.5 inches down from the top center. Mark a dot there, then draw lines from the dot to the two top corners to shape the ears.
  2. Cut along the lines on both pieces to form the cat ears. Then spray paint all sides of the wood black.
  3. Print the two patterns (orange buffalo check and black spot) onto white card stock using the provided links.
  4. Place a wood piece on the corresponding pattern, then trace around it.
  5. Cut out the traced paper shapes for each cat.
  6. Apply the paper cutout to the wood using Mod Podge with a foam brush, then seal with another Mod Podge coat on top.
  7. Hot glue two googly eyes, six 2-inch twine whiskers, and a black button nose onto each cat. Tie a coordinating ribbon around each cat and finish with a bow.
