This DIY project shows you how to create a zombie skeleton decoration for Halloween using 3/4" PVC pipe, connectors, a foam skeleton head, and old clothes. By cutting the pipe to specific lengths and assembling the frame, then dressing it, you can make a spooky yard display. Optional skeleton hands add the final touch.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Take measurements for one skeleton frame and assemble it initially to determine any adjustments needed for additional skeletons. Use a saw to cut the PVC pipe.
  2. Cut the 3/4" PVC pipe into specific lengths: 32 inches for the spine, 12 inches for each arm and thigh, 11 inches for each leg, and 9 inches for each shoulder, neck, hip, and forearm piece. For a standing skeleton, replace the leg pieces with 40-inch lengths.
  3. Connect the PVC pipe sections using the 3/4" cross, T, and elbow connectors to form the skeleton body frame.
  4. Dress the completed PVC frame in old clothing to create the zombie attire.
  5. Attach the foam skeleton head by twisting the PVC pipe into the foam—insert from the bottom if the skeleton will be standing, or from the back if it will be lying down.
  6. Optionally, add skeleton hands to the arm ends to complete the zombie look.
