This guide shows you how to create two types of illuminated Halloween jars using battery-operated lights, spider webbing, and straw. You will assemble the light pack, layer the decorative materials inside a jar, and seal it while keeping the power source accessible outside.

- Take the battery compartment off the string of Halloween lights.
- Insert two AA batteries into the holder.
- Snap the cover back into place and secure the screws.
- Flip the switch to turn the lights on.
- Grab a mason jar or any clear glass jar you have on hand.
- Tuck a small amount of fake spider webbing inside the bottom of the jar.
- Layer in a few light strands, followed by another handful of webbing, and then more lights.
- Finish with a final layer of webbing, then seal the jar with its lid while keeping the battery pack outside.
- For the pumpkin-themed version, cut the wire that binds the straw bale together.
- Pull out handfuls of straw and drop them into the jar.
- Alternate between adding more light strands and additional straw until the jar is full.
- Close the lid and position the battery pack on the exterior of the jar.
