Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at 17turtles.com.
Give your front door a creepy makeover with silver-painted skulls and skeletons attached to a garland. This project uses Dollar Tree materials and simple steps to create an eerie effect. The author suggests using ribbon and adhesive for easier attachment.
You'll need
Directions
- Take the left half of the garland and drape it over to the right, then secure it with a piece of wire as if you were tying back a curtain.
- Cut a length of silver tinsel in half and wind one portion around the gathered garland.
- Do the same on the opposite side.
- Use silver spray paint to coat the skulls and skeletons completely.
- Allow them to dry thoroughly.
- Fasten the painted items to the garland with 20-gauge wire.
- Securing the skulls with wire was tricky and somewhat frustrating. For an easier approach, I recommend gluing a ribbon to the back of each skull with a strong adhesive like E6000, then tying the ribbon to the garland.
