Monster Up a Beverage Tub for Your Halloween Party | HGTV

Using self-adhesive craft foam, you can create a spooky monster beverage tub for Halloween. Cut out horns, eyes, a mouth, and fangs, then attach them to the tub. For adults, fill the tub with drinks and place it out of reach of kids; for children, make a separate tub with their favorite beverages.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Fold a sheet of self-adhesive craft foam in half. Use scissors to cut out a curved horn shape; folding ensures the horn has two matching sides. Peel the paper backing off one side, but leave a small strip of paper at the base (to be removed later when attaching to the tub). Press the two sides together. Repeat using the first horn as a template to make a second double-sided horn.
  2. Fold gold self-adhesive craft foam in half and cut an almond shape resembling cat's eyes. For pupils, fold black foam in half and cut two narrow slits. Remove the backing from the pupils and press them onto the eyes.
  3. From red self-adhesive craft foam, cut a wide crescent-moon shape. Then cut several small triangles from white foam to look like fangs. Peel the backing off the fangs and stick them onto the red mouth.
  4. Remove the remaining paper strip from the base of each horn and attach the horns to opposite sides of the black beverage tub.
  5. Choose which side will be the front and find the center of the tub. Peel off the backing from the eyes and mouth, then attach them to the front.
  6. If children will be present, place the adults-only party tub up high and fill it with assorted bottled beer, hard cider, wine, and canned cocktails. Set out a bottle opener so guests can serve themselves. To include little ones, follow the same steps to create a kid-friendly beverage tub and place it on the ground within easy reach.
