These Halloween ghost cupcakes start with a moist chocolate cake filled with a glowing green marshmallow goo. After frosting and coating with crushed cookies, they're topped with candy-dipped marshmallow ghosts for a spooky yet cute presentation.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the chocolate cake mix, instant chocolate pudding mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  3. Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  4. Divide the batter evenly among the liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
  7. To make the ghost goo filling, mix the melted butter and marshmallow fluff together, then stir in green food coloring until you achieve your preferred shade.
  8. Scoop a small hole out of the center of each cupcake, being careful not to cut all the way through. Set aside the removed piece, then trim off the bottom part so that the top remains as a flat cap.
  9. Fill each hole with the green marshmallow cream, then place the reserved cap back on top to seal it.
  10. Frost the top of each cupcake, then flip it upside down and dip it into the crushed Oreo cookies so the frosting is coated.
  11. Melt the green candy melts, then dip each marshmallow ghost about halfway into the melted candy. Place the ghost upright on top of the cupcake.
  12. Serve and enjoy your spooky treats!
