This festive recipe transforms classic s’mores into a Halloween-themed delight. Marshmallows are dipped in layers of colored chocolate, then torched for a toasted finish. Optional candy toppers add extra flair, making them perfect for parties or trick-or-treating.
Ingredients
Directions
- Lay out a sheet of waxed paper on your work surface.
- Pour the graham cracker crumbs into a small bowl and set aside.
- Put the black melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat this two more times. Check if the chocolate is smooth and drips easily; if not, heat for an additional 30 seconds.
- Spear a marshmallow with a fork.
- Submerge the marshmallow two-thirds of the way into the black chocolate.
- Set the coated marshmallow on the waxed paper and let it dry.
- Microwave the purple melting chocolate in a bowl for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each interval, for three rounds. If it isn’t smooth and runny, give it one more 30-second burst.
- Place a black-coated marshmallow on a fork, pinching off any dried chocolate puddles at its base.
- Dip the marshmallow into the purple chocolate, covering about halfway up from the bottom.
- Return it to the waxed paper to dry.
- Melt the orange chocolate in the microwave using the same method: 30-second intervals with stirring, until smooth.
- Put the black-and-purple marshmallow on a fork and remove any dried chocolate lumps from the bottom.
- Dip the marshmallow into the orange chocolate, covering about one-third of the bottom.
- Right after that, press the wet orange chocolate base into the graham cracker crumbs.
- Place the marshmallow on the waxed paper to set.
- Ignite your kitchen torch.
- Carefully torch the top of the marshmallow to toast it, being cautious not to set it ablaze. If a flame catches, extinguish it right away.
- If using candy toppers, dip the base of each candy into a bit of leftover melted chocolate and stick it on top of the s’more.
- Drizzle additional melted chocolate over the top for decoration.
- Let the s’mores fully dry and harden.
- Serve and enjoy.
