These Halloween-themed caprese bites transform mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil into realistic eyeballs. Using a melon baller and a hole punch, you can quickly assemble these spooky snacks. Serve them on skewers for a creepy appetizer that's sure to delight party guests.

Directions

With the smaller side of a melon baller, form small cheese balls from the mozzarella.

Slice the cherry tomatoes in half, ensuring you have as many halves as mozzarella balls.

Clean the melon baller thoroughly, then use it to hollow out each tomato half.

Insert a mozzarella ball into each hollowed tomato half.

Use a single-hole paper punch to cut tiny circles from basil leaves for the pupils. If you lack a punch, carefully cut them with small clean scissors.

Set a basil circle on top of each cheese eyeball. Insert a cocktail stick into each eyeball, or skewer them in pairs.

Serve immediately, or keep covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
