These eyeball cupcakes are a fun and easy Halloween treat. Start by baking vanilla cupcakes and frosting them with bright white icing. Then add candy eyeballs, pink eyelids, and optional red veins for a realistic, gory effect.
Ingredients
Equipment
- muffin tin
- paper liners
- piping bags
Directions
- Follow the directions on the vanilla cake mix box to prepare the batter, then bake it in a 12-cup muffin tin lined with paper liners. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
- Mix the white food coloring into the vanilla frosting until it becomes a bright white shade. In a separate small bowl, mix a little frosting with red and blue gel food coloring to create a pinkish flesh tone for the eyelids.
- Using a piping bag, pipe the white frosting onto each cupcake in a rounded dome shape. Place one candy eyeball in the center of the frosting.
- With the pink frosting, pipe a small crescent shape over the upper half of each eyeball to create an eyelid.
- For extra creepiness, use the red gel food coloring to add thin red lines resembling veins to the white frosting around the eye.
