Give your pumpkins a cozy makeover with this simple upcycle project. Using an old sweater, yarn, and scissors, you can create a charming fabric cover that adds warmth to your fall display. The sweater is cinched at the stem and finished with a yarn bow, and you can easily reuse it year after year.

Directions
- Slice open the sweater along one side seam and spread it flat. Drape the fabric over your pumpkin and use a marker to trace a circle around the stem, leaving a bit of extra fabric so it’s not too tight. Cut along the traced line. An old flannel shirt works just as well.
- Measure a piece of yarn or twine long enough to go around the stem and tie. Gather the sweater fabric around the stem and cinch it tightly, securing it with the yarn. Snip off any long yarn ends.
- With sharp scissors, carefully cut away excess fabric near the stem to reduce bulk, but leave enough to form a small rosette. Fluff the remaining fabric to create a gathered rosette.
- Cut another piece of yarn long enough to wrap the stem and tie a bow. Loop the yarn around the rosette and stem, then finish with a bow. When storing the pumpkin for next season, untie the yarn and save the sweater remnant for reuse.
