These Halloween Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods are a simple, festive treat. Dip pretzel rods in melted candy melts, then decorate with sprinkles or candy corn. Let them set, then store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare two baking sheets by covering them with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the candy melts in 20-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until fully melted and smooth. If you like, pour the melted candy into a tall, narrow glass for easier dipping.
- Grasp a pretzel rod by one end and dip it into the melted candy, or use a spoon to coat it, covering about three-quarters of the rod. Let any extra candy drip back into the container.
- Place each coated pretzel rod on the parchment paper and immediately add sprinkles, candy corn, or candy eyes before the coating hardens. Work in batches of 5-6 rods, decorating them before dipping the next batch.
- Allow the chocolate-covered pretzels to fully harden before moving them to an airtight container. They will set at room temperature, but you can refrigerate them to speed things up. Stored properly, they stay fresh for about 2 weeks.
