Each step is clearly explained for easy decorating.
Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare one or two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper. Set any decorated donuts on these sheets so they can firm up.
- For the purple and green candy melts, add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening to each color. Microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power, stir, and repeat until melted. You can remove them while still a few lumps remain; let them sit for about a minute, then stir—the residual heat will finish melting. If the mixture is too thick, add more coconut oil 1 teaspoon at a time until smooth. Avoid overheating to prevent burning or clumping.
- Take the donuts and dip the top side face-down into the melted candy. Immediately add candy eyes and sprinkles as desired, then place the donuts on the prepared baking sheet.
- Melt the green candy melts with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening. Use short microwave bursts of 30 seconds at 50% power, stirring between each. You can take it out early while some lumps remain, let it rest a minute, then stir to melt completely. Adjust thickness with extra coconut oil 1 teaspoon at a time if needed. Be careful not to overheat.
- Dip the donuts top-down into the melted green candy, place on the lined sheet, and press candy eyes onto each. Let them set for about 3 to 5 minutes. While they dry, split the black frosting into two piping bags: one fitted with a #8 tip (fill it more) and the other with a #3 tip.
- Use the #8 tip to pipe hair shapes on the donuts. Then switch to the #3 tip to pipe a mouth and stitching details.
- For the white candy melts, add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening. Microwave at 50% power for 30-second intervals, stirring each time. Stop while a few lumps remain; after a minute, stir to finish melting. Thin with additional coconut oil 1 teaspoon at a time if needed, and avoid overheating.
- Transfer the melted white candy to a piping bag fitted with a #104 tip. Dab a small amount of melted candy onto the back of each candy eye and stick them onto the donut.
- Pipe the white candy melts in strips across the donut to create bandage effects. Begin by piping two lines around the eyes, then crisscross additional lines to complete the look.
- Partially fold the plastic fangs and push them into the middle of the glazed donuts.
- Apply a small amount of black frosting to the back of each candy eye and attach them to the donut.
- Using a piping bag filled with black frosting and fitted with a #8 tip, pipe hair onto the donut.
- Squeeze a small amount of red edible gel around the fangs to simulate blood.
- Again, melt white candy melts with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening. Heat in 30-second increments at 50% power, stirring. Let lumps sit for a minute then stir; thin with oil if too thick. Avoid overheating.
- Pour the melted white candy into a piping bag fitted with a #3 tip.
- Pipe concentric circles onto the donut. Immediately use a toothpick or skewer to drag from the center outward, creating a spiderweb pattern.
