Ingredients
Directions
- Start by coring a large Granny Smith apple, then cut it into quarters. Lightly coat the apple pieces with lemon juice to keep them from turning brown. Using a small paring knife, carve a cat-eye-shaped mouth into the center of each quarter (it's okay if you cut through; the peanut butter will hide it). Spread a thin layer of peanut butter along the inside of the mouth on both the top and bottom. Press a slice of strawberry into the bottom curve so the rounded end sticks out like a tongue. Stick a few sunflower seeds into the top curve to mimic teeth. Finally, attach two candy eyeballs just above the mouth using a dab of peanut butter.
- Take a bamboo skewer and thread on a blackberry, a blueberry, and a cantaloupe cube. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled. Make as many skewers as you like. For a spooky touch, you can attach a candy eyeball to a blueberry using a small amount of peanut butter.
- Peel the kiwis and cut them into thick rounds. Make a small slit at the bottom of each slice and insert a popsicle stick so it stays secure. Set the kiwi pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Melt the dark chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth. Transfer the melted chocolate to a small ziploc bag, snip off a tiny corner, and drizzle it over the top half of each kiwi to create a monster's hair. While the chocolate is still soft, press two white chocolate chips in for eyes and a banana triangle at the top for a Frankenstein bolt. Use the chocolate bag to add two small dots inside the white chips for pupils and a wavy mouth below. Allow the chocolate to set for 20–30 minutes at room temperature, or pop them in the fridge to speed things up.
- Peel both large bananas and slice each in half crosswise. For each banana half, use a dab of peanut butter to attach two candy eyeballs side by side near the top. Then push the tip of a dark chocolate chip into the banana just below the eyes to form an open mouth. Trim a few small triangles from the bottom edge of the banana to create a zigzag ghost hem. Repeat this process for all four banana halves.
- Peel the clementines and pull off any white pith. Take a quarter of the green grape (a lengthwise slice) and poke it into the dimple at the top of each clementine so it resembles a pumpkin stem.
- Arrange all the Halloween fruit pieces on a large serving platter—you can group similar items together or scatter them randomly. Serve immediately for the best freshness.
