These five quick-paced Halloween games use simple supplies like candy corn, plastic spiders, and straws. Each challenge lasts just one minute, testing speed and skill. Perfect for parties, with easy age adjustments for younger participants.

Directions

  1. Candy Corn Drop: The goal is to drop as many candy corn into a bucket or bowl within one minute. For older kids, have them stand on a chair; for younger ones, keep them on the ground. The rule is they cannot bend their knees or hips. A countdown adds excitement. After the minute, count how many candy corn landed in the container.
  2. Spider Transfer: You'll need straws, plates, and plastic spiders. The aim is to move spiders from one plate to another using only the straw's suction. No hands allowed. For younger children, arrange spiders so they aren't touching and are all upright to make it easier.
  3. Spider Races: Using the same plastic spiders and straws, players have one minute to blow their spider across a table. The winner is the first to blow it off the table or the one who gets it farthest. If a spider falls off early, the player must start over. For smaller tables, see how many spiders can be blown off in the minute.
  4. Candy Corn Stand Up: The challenge is to stand as many candy corn upright as possible in one minute. This was too hard for a 4-year-old but a 7-year-old enjoyed it.
  5. Candy Corn Races: Use a spoon, a plate of candy corn, and a bowl or bucket. In one minute, players scoop up candy corn with the spoon, walk around a table or across a room, and drop it into the bucket. Adjust the distance by age: older kids go the full room, younger ones half. To prevent cheating, have kids touch a wall as a target.
