These decadent Halloween Oreo balls are a no-bake treat that's easy to make and fun to decorate.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at chelseasmessyapron.com.
Crush a full package of Oreos and mix with softened cream cheese to form a dough. Roll into balls, chill, then dip in melted candy coating and decorate. The result is a rich, creamy truffle perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- In a food processor or blender, grind the whole Oreos (cream filling included) into fine crumbs. Then, in a mixing bowl, combine the crumbs with softened cream cheese and beat until thoroughly blended.
- Shape the mixture into small balls and refrigerate them for at least 1 hour until firm.
- Melt the candy melts or chocolate chips following the package directions. If the melted coating is too thick, stir in a little vegetable oil to thin it. Using a fork, carefully lower a chilled ball into the coating, spoon more over the top, and tap the fork against the bowl to remove excess. Gently slide the coated ball onto a parchment-lined surface.
- Add your decorations right away (see note 2). Let the truffles set completely before serving.
