The process involves making two separate batches of coated cereal and then mixing them together. It's quick, easy, and sure to be a hit at any Halloween gathering.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/4 cup peanut butter, 1/8 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
  2. Microwave the bowl for 30 seconds.
  3. Stir the mixture, then continue microwaving in 30-second increments until the chocolate is fully melted and everything is smooth.
  4. Put half of the Chex cereal (about 4.5 cups) into a large bowl.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal.
  6. Fold the cereal gently with a spatula until each piece is evenly coated.
  7. Add 1 cup of powdered sugar to a gallon-size ziplock bag.
  8. Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into the bag.
  9. Close the bag and shake it well to cover the cereal with powdered sugar.
  10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 using white chocolate chips instead of regular chocolate chips.
  11. Spread both batches of puppy chow onto a baking sheet, then sprinkle with candy corn and candy eyes. Stir gently to combine.
  12. Let the mixture cool completely before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
